Something you may not know about how important this day is.
Did you know Mothers day is a celebrated Federal Holiday. On Mothers day the U.S. flag at all Federal buildings and military posts around the world is flown at half staff until noon, to honor all Mothers for the loss of their children in war, that as a nation we also mourn with them. Raised to full staff, over the years many have forgotten or don't know about this. It isn't done on Fathers day. In the military it's a bigger deal because so many Mothers have not only lose sons and daughters but husbands as well. Mothers day with my family is also celebrated on our Birthdays, because she was the first person to love us.

Thanks Mary, my Mom loved that my Army buddies made a big deal about it. Calling her their Army mom because, she sent big care packages of homemade cookies, cake, even adding salt packet for the popcorn used to pack it with. Some sent her Mothers day card, when we were stationed together. MKM
