# 2 New writtings

Looking down from Heaven
By Mary K Mennenga

Yes I understand
Last piece of living done
The love I carry everyday
Never judged always loved
Unique, independent
Taught to make my own path
Learned of generations past
To find happiness
Focus on here and now
Respect history
Give and take
Not take and keep
Not gone
Best parts of me
Came from you
Your love
My blanket of peace
Basics don't change
Love always your
Dither daughter

Writing again feels oh so good!

Very glad I was able to get a new desk top computer, using a normal size wireless keyboard with a screen big enough, to see what I'm writing as I write it. Happy dancing in my head.

Not being able to write, has been hard having thoughts stuck in my head for too long. At first I spent days then weeks, working at putting my thoughts together on my computer and out of my head, was so frustrating, after looking at what I had written the day before, none it made sense it felt like a complete waste of my time. So I stopped wasting my time, something I despise doing because of limitations of my time and energy.

Instead I decided doing something Nacho and I both, enjoy doing together going for walks. At first I wasn't sure how far we were walking my friend and neighbor told me about mapmywalk.com now I plan route or input the route after we get back.  I first started using it in the last week of July 2014. Since then Nacho and I have logged 380 miles, I count them as Nacho's smiles. In 148 walks, spending 132 hours walking. The longest walk we took was 6.31 miles. Have needed to replace my walker twice, I'm on my sixth set of wheels, if I count the set that came with the walkers. I'm going to try waiting until spring, to replace them for the seventh time, the salt and sand eats them away so fast.

Thought I would lose the use of my leg's first, how silly of me  thinking I knew what m.s. would do next. Instead it's been the muscles in my fingers, hands and wrists are getting weaker. Control of my fingers grabbing holding on yep dropping, knocking stuff over, cleaning up little messes mostly water. My computer and power strip are safely out of harms way. Being a two finger typist, having four fingers on each hand, is really helpful!!

As always I do what I can, when I can for as long as I'm able.

New computer with wireless mouse and keyboard which I love.

The line between love & hate is huge

The line between

Negativity, hate an unwillingness to compromise.
People passing judgment on each other, it seems like everybody is doing.
Speaking lies as if the truth.
Calling people names meant to cause them pain, feeling ashamed and worthless. Attaching labels, to whole groups of people, showing who is to blame for every problem we face today.
Is this what the human race has become?

Love and hate is huge!

Not small or a fine line between each other.
Love can overcome any obstacle put in its path
I’m talking about real passion something money can't buy
Power can’t control manipulate or displaced
Can't be found in a book written by mankind
A faith no human can pass judgment upon.

We are here because of an act of nature
Never started or ended a war
Its balance can be tipped only so far
Tip it too far it will find its balance
It’s the miracle under our feet
Made up like us of star dust
The very dust needed
To make rain
Its history shows us what happens
When its balance isn't maintained
By recycling mistakes made
Over and over… again
Free Will and a choice
We aren't the first or the last

Find and be the positive you want to see
around you.

Perception of observations

Perception of observations
By Mary K. Mennenga

It's what I choose to see
Of the world around me
Glancing back is history
Learned
To see beyond what blocks my view
Seeing the wonder of
The living world I stand upon
Is it growing, dying or changing
Could the earth be saying
You take without knowing or understanding
The reason it's there
Each action you take, causes a reaction by me
You seem not to understand you can't live without me
Since you care so little of my well being
No need to worry I will find my balance
It's all up to you if it's
With or without you.

With my written reflections done. I've found I have more I want to write in this format. The difference is I'm writing without input from my mom, of course her teachings still affect how I see the world around me. Not sure what to call them this being the first, no clue where I'm going or what will come next. It's a bit of what's been rolling around in my head and in the pages of my journals that I still write in and keep today. Guess if there are more I'll find a name for them then.

Creative Arts Competition

2013 Minneapolis V.A. health care system. Held every year I'm eligible and   thinking of entering this year. Last year I saw part of the creative writing entries all were very good. Not sure which one of my reflection to submit for the competition.

So if you have a favorite and want to let me know by putting the number in a comment. Going to see my doctor on the 4 of December before the dead line. Worth the risk, to at least give it a try. This will be a first for me to put anything I've written into a competition, if I don't chicken out.
